As you may know, this blog is all about the love and passion for bikes and cars as a whole. No matter the brand, the age, if it moves the soul it will move me!

Kawasaki, a very interesting bike brand. They’ve always gone about getting the business done in a very uncontroversial way. The H2 and its twin, H2R, were machines that no one saw coming yet it took the biking world by storm and still turns heads to this day! They’ve slowly but surely started to introduce themselves into newer markets and make a big impact in ways they didn’t really know, which is a bold move but worth the try!
The 650, parallel twin, they have used for a few years has always received good reviews because of its punchy characteristics and ziggy little sound. It literally sounds like a millions of bees are after you and leaves you grinning.
This particular motor has been put into a touring bike and this is called the Versys 650. It has a very interesting look at the front but catches your attention! Remember the bee noise I said? It looks like a bumblebee and they are so sweet! Anyway, this isn’t Earth, the documentary, let’s get back to the good stuff! Dual discs, upside down forks, a comfortable and plush seat with plenty of grunt off the bat, it really is a bike that has been overlooked a bit too much in this class. It isn’t expensive which means you can buy it and still have change for a 5 star course dinner and look and admire the bumblebee, I mean Kawasaki.

Riding it for a good 4 hours, traffic and no traffic, pillion and no pillion, the bike definitely behaves in all good ways. Sitting in the bike makes you relaxed and at ease and feel confident going into corners even with the more plush and softer suspension. With a 21 litre fuel tank and how light this bike is on fuel, it will definitely get you from point A to B and still have left over to get from B to C and back! Now that is impressive. Altogether, a bike that is overlooked, plenty of grunt, plush suspension, plenty of braking capacity and enough fun to leave you smiling from ear to ear. If I was in the market for a sports tourer, 600cc, I would look no further!
I cannot wait to see how the Ninja 650 or Z650 go! I’m sure with that motor and a little more sporty and aggressive stances, they will be just as fun!
